Frequently asked Questions

How do I reserve a party date?
Parties are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be accepted 1 year in advance of the date. A minimum of 4 weeks in advance of the event date is preferred. However, reservations made within two weeks of the date will incur a 10% rush fee. Contact us to book a reservation.

How do I get the signed event contract to you?
By paying your deposit you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the contract, which protects the client as well as the company. When we arrive at your location prior to the start of your event, we will request that you sign the contract and pay the remainder of our fees before we begin setting up.

How many people can I invite?
Our packages prices are calculated to include 8 - 12 guests, including birthday child. There is however, no limit on the number of guests you can invite, but for each additional child over our standard 12 add 15$.
Parties with more than 15 invited children will automatically incur an additional hostess fee of 75$. If, unexpexctedly, less than 15 arrive you will still incur the fee. The Mad Hatter Tea was specially designed for large numbers of children and is exempt from the additional hostess fee!

Is there a minimum age for party guests?
Costumes and party activities are designed for children over the age of three since our game props, favors, and prizes may contain small parts. If children under the age of three are present for the party, they can be dressed in fancy dress or an outfit but their participation may not include costumes, favors, game prizes, or a complete table setting. If a child is expected to participate in the party in any way (siblings), please include them in your total guest count.

Can I invite boys to the party?
We cater our themes for both boys and girls. Please inform us should you have boys in attendance so we may accommodate them with appropriate costume choices.

Where are the parties held?
We come to your home, club house, or other location of your choice. If you are having your event at a rented venue it is the parents' responsibility to arrange for our accommodation.

How long are the parties?
Our party packages range in length from 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on age, theme and party package chosen. Your party hostesses will arrive 30-75 minutes prior to the event to setup and dress in costume (where applicable).

What happens if I have to cancel my party?
If you must cancel your party for any reason at least 30 days before the event, you will receive your full deposit. If, however, you have to cancel with less than 30 days notice, your deposit is non-refundable, but we will be happy to reschedule for you. Should it be necessary to resend invitations, there will be an additional charge.

What is a photo session?
A photo session might include a group image, individual photos of each guest and, if time permits, a shot with each guest with the birthday girl at the hostess’s discretion. Each guest will receive a photo to take home as a keepsake. Photos are burned onto CD and given to the parent. As is the nature of photography we cannot guarantee that all images will be flattering of each guest. Little People Parties reserves the right, with the parent's permission, to use images of the event on our website and in advertising materials.

Do adults stay during the party?
The parent(s) of the birthday child must remain at the party until its conclusion. The parents of invited guests are not required to be in attendance.

What about siblings and unexpected guests?
If a child is expected to participate in the party in any way, please include them in your total guest count. Unfortunately, we may not be able to accommodate unexpected guests, as we prepare our parties based on the guest list. However, every attempt will be made to make them feel included, comfortable and welcomed. A 15$ per child fee for additional unexpected guests will be applied to the final bill.

Who takes care of a guest if they become ill, are a behavior problem, or do not want to participate?
The party hostesses are responsible for engaging the children in activities. However, we are not responsible for the behavior of the children. We kindly ask that you monitor disruptive behavior accordingly to ensure a positive party experience.
